What is Demand Response Energy and Event Management?

Demand Response is an integral part of many organization's Energy Management System (EMS) and corporate sustainability strategies. Although tightly integrated, demand response execution has been a manual process in the past. Most organizations require tight control of when and how electricity is affected at their facility during an event with most often results in a manual control system.

Well not any longer. With Verisae's web-enabled, Demand Response execution manager a distributed enterprise can control an entire demand event remotely from the administrative interface. Demand Response management and tracking has become much easier.

Demand Response incentives can be formal or informal. For example, the utility might create a tariff-based incentive by passing along short-term increases in the price of electricity. Demand response service providers, like Verisae, often install certain software and hardware that communicates with the client’s existing online energy management systems or can bundle the entire energy management system (EMS) within the application.

Verisae can control your electric power requirements, consumption, and control as needed as needed based upon a number of pre-defined scenarios. Shaving off a load from a peak period or take advantage of rebates and incentives from your utility can be planned, scheduled, and executed centrally.

Demand Response is a subset of demand side management, which also includes energy efficiency and conservation. The overall goal of these technologies is to increase effectiveness of demand response in large facilities through the use of automation and to better understand of demand response technologies and strategies in large facilities across a distributed enterprise.

Demand response participation with Verisae is easy to initiate and even easier to administer. Qualified commercial, institutional, and industrial businesses and organizations agree to reduce demand, and Verisae can help you do it across one facility or one hundred.

Demand response itself is not a new idea. Many large retail customers are accustomed to changing their consumption behavior in response to a financial incentive, such as off-peak pricing. Demand Response is a major driver in enhancing operational efficiency, reducing an enterprise's carbon footprint, and to removing the barriers facing a environmentally sustainable corporation.

A fundamental imbalance looms between supply and demand related to our future energy needs which continues to threaten system stability, reliability, power quality, and the cost of power. With Verisae's Demand Response integration with our suite of emissions and energy management systems, a 21st century corporation can prepare itself now for the low carbon economy of the future.
