There are major influences pressuring organizations to take a closer look at their environmental, maintenance, and energy management processes. The scarcity of financial resources and the risk related to our energy supply are pushing companies to redefine their core operational needs. Organizations are being reassessed at many levels to evaluate their natural resource and energy usage as well as their climate change impacts and sustainability initiatives.

The entire environmental analysis process takes on a level of complexity that is simply too much for a manual or spreadsheet-based system to manage.

Many assumptions and calculations will rely on complicated environmental baselines, which will need to be recalculated and reset from time to time. If an organization relies on a manual system, these baselines will be very difficult to integrate, redefine, and work with. In short, the correct interpretation and manipulation of large amounts of data requires a very dynamic approach to data gathering.
