Watch Our 3 Minute Overview to Sustainability

“Leading organizations are implementing green building technologies and operational practices. They are now looking to ways to prove the benefits to stakeholders,” said Dr. Greden. “However, they face a real challenge. Measurement of sustainability performance is especially complex in the buildings and construction industry due to the disparate data sources, multiple parties involved through a building’s lifetime, and the need to keep up with technological innovations.”

True to the conference goal of bridging sustainability, environmental protection, and social benefits, Lara’s presentation will focus on methods to collect data and calculate key performance indicators for sustainability. Participants will learn what to track and how to communicate results with stakeholders, including methods for achieving LEED points, Energy Star™ benchmarks, and carbon footprint calculations for the construction industry.

Conference attendees will walk away with a much clearer picture of the issues, opportunities, and risks to consider for their company. The presentation will include case studies demonstrating how building tenants and organizations alike take action in response to tracked information. Lara’s presentation is approved for Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) credits towards the LEED Credential Maintenance Program.
